Yellow 5 is a Chippewa Falls Wisconsin based band. We got together about roughly two years ago. It all started when Mca and bassist Geoff were sitting in Bassist Geoffs living room. They were sitting there watching "MTV". Then Mca goes "hey we could do that! Lets start a band!"
Bassist Geoff replies " HELL yeah! I could play bass and PHIL could play drums!". Mca replied "right on, I'll play the guitar!". So that was the beginning. We soon found out we needed a vocalist, so sadly we chose the kid who had, and still has the highest pitched voice in our school! We gave him the boot soon after we heard him sing. (we were hoping for a Billy Corgan voice). Anyways...Mca got stuck with the vocals and we needed money and talent fast! So we started practicing again about 3 months after that so we wasted about 8 months of our "band time". After that we finally got some experience and a little bit of talent and started making up pointless songs with all "rhyming lyrics" which we got yelled at a few times for but hey Mca didn't know how to write music yet! So about 2 months after that we recorded a demo tape which consisted of 12 original songs. We played a show and Mca's Ex-girlfriend's house and it was pitiful! After that we started coming up with songs that had a complexity to them, and somewhat good lyrics. We had some good songs and heard a lot of gossip about a rad guitar player who was coming to our school the following year so we got him. He was a rad guitar player! And we made some rad songs, but soon after he quit because we were "too fast and hardcore for him" . So that sucked but we came up with a cover of Green Days song "hitchin a ride" and played it for a talent show at our school. It was rad! We did pretty good except we had some difficulties with my amp. But I was told by about 100 people that we ripped so Thanks for the support! We have music playing during each page some of it is us and the others are a rad band Excretion from Canada they're about the same age as us!
